Scenes from the Lafayette Reservoir Rim Trail, March, 2010

  • Location: Lafayette Reservoir Rim Trail
  • Route: Wandered Rim trail from Campolindo Drive
  • Mileage: 2 miles
  • Difficulty Level: Strenuous
  • Description: The wide fire road trails of the Lafayette Reservoir Rim Trail are challenging and steep. In wet winter days, they can get dangerously slick. I've accidentally slid down one of these trails, attempting to keep my balance. Nevertheless, they are a heart pounding challenge that hikers and runners enjoy! This is a great trail if you're training for a vacation mountain climb. Rolling hills that are bright green in the spring, this trail explores the land up and around the Lafayette Reservoir.
